About us

ThermalEyes therapeutic heat packs were conceived and designed by Melanie Groth, an ocular therapeutics qualified optometrist with over 20 years experience and a professional interest in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye syndromes.

Melanie graduated with First Class Honours from Queensland University of Technology's Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) degree in 1998 and completed her Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics in 2014.

In addition to being the founder of ThermalEyes, Melanie continues to treat patients in her role as optometrist at a busy suburban practice. She is also undertaking further study and will complete her Doctor of Medicine in 2022.

ThermalEyes was developed in response to Melanie's unsuccessful search for a comfortable, affordable and stylish solution to her dry eye patients needs - coupled with her passion for sewing!  From this humble beginning, the ThermalEyes team have taken the ThermalEyes heat packs and made them available to dry eye sufferers worldwide!

The application of dry heat is recommended as one of the best ways to alleviate the symptoms of dry eye, meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and computer vision syndrome (CVS). ThermalEyes heat pack format allows patients to manage their condition in the comfort and convenience of their home or workplace.

ThermalEyes is based in Perth, Australia and has been selling the ThermalEyes therapeutic heat packs to dry eye sufferers since 2014. Our ABN is ABN 51 161 742 102 and our ThermalEyes heat packs are a registered class 1 medical device on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG 234 383).
